I've been in the advertising business since 1989, when I graduated with a BS in Art from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Why Madison? Well, it was a long road full of ruts and nuts, and adventure, but Madison keeps calling me back.
I was born in Wausau, originally. Not that I was born multiple times, but that's where it all started. Small ranch house, with a basement train set and a dog named Pete. My parents kept a horse at the end of the 60's suburban block, on a little piece of land we called the "Woods." But when it was agreed to be too small for a horse, we bought an 80-acre "farm" between Wausau and Merrill for $8,000. Yes, $8,000. 80 acres, 3 sheds, a house and a barn.
Pioneers. One shed became an outhouse. Another housed the mini-bike and Dad's Corvair. The house itself had bees living within one wall, and the windows were all old warped glass and broken, so heat consisted of a small fireplace and space heaters.
